Introduction:

Sometime in the late 2010s and early 2020s, a cluster of online movements, MGTOW (“Men Going Their Own Way”) or the Red Pill movement (allegedly inspired by The Matrix, a movie whose message they clearly misunderstood), convinced an entire generation of boys that they had uncovered a forbidden truth about reality.

That “truth” goes something like this: ‘’Modern society is rigged against men, feminism secretly runs everything, and women are disloyal opportunists who will only sleep with you if you earn six figures and drive a Bugatti.’’

The Alpha Male Industrial Complex:

In the words of Future: “She belongs to the streets.” A line that started as toxic poetry and somehow evolved into a lifestyle for men who think emotional detachment or being ‘’nonchalant’’ and ‘’cold’’ is the same thing as self-respect.

Enter the “Alpha Male” gurus, men who discovered that masculinity isn’t just a gender identity anymore. It’s a subscription service. Something you can monetize. These guys don’t just sell advice; they sell a lifestyle. Or in simpler terms, advocate for young men on how they should become ‘’pimps’’ and treat women like shit!

And to be fair, not everything they say is useless. Self-improvement, discipline, and financial literacy are not inherently wrong.

The problem starts when that advice gives women the short end of the stick. When you have men like Andrew Tate who call women “objects,’’ when podcasts like Fresh & Fit build an entire worldview by cherry-picking Miami nightlife behavior, or Kevin Samuels (RIP) becomes more famous for humiliating women instead of being an image consultant for BOTH men and women. Now it’s not about self-improvement, it turns into a misogyny witch-hunt.

The Flaws Of The Red Pill Movement:

What makes the Red Pill movement flawed is the fact that the majority of the women these ''Alpha Male'' content creators talk about and see on these podcasts are embedded and heavily influenced by the American / Western culture and lifestyle. These girls that are presented on these podcasts tell all about their dating experiences, their ‘’wonderful’’ one night stands, their ridiculous dating standards, and are quick to expose their own dirty laundry for quick 20-second clips that are MEANT to go viral on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

However, what the audience doesn’t understand is that these girls on these podcasts are carefully handpicked to be on these podcasts. They do not represent women. They represent content. But the audience isn’t told that. Instead, these extreme examples are framed as a universal truth, and suddenly, an entire gender becomes a stereotype.

Projection & Stereotypes:

The Fresh & Fit podcast, more specifically, Myron Gaines. Much of his worldview feels less like analysis and more like a projection of his own negative experiences he’s had with women, specifically those from Miami. The problem is that not every single woman around the world acts and behaves like a Miami girl.

And I get that it’s entertaining to watch how he constantly rants, yells into the mic so much to the point that he’s balding, his hair is turning gray, and he's about to pop a blood vessel, but constantly bombarding an entire generation of young men with degeneracy and a stereotype stops being entertainment and starts becoming indoctrination.

Misogyny as a Monetization Strategy:

Most of these ‘’alpha male’’ gurus don’t actually care about men’s mental health, relationships, or long-term fulfillment. Anger performs. Outrage converts. Misogyny keeps viewers watching. This is not ideology, it’s capitalism. The more controversial the take, the more clicks. The more clicks, the more donations, course sales. Masculinity gets flattened into content, and women become the most reliable rage-bait of all time.

And because guys like Andrew Tate, Myron Gaines, and many other ‘’Alpha Male’’ content creators have a platform and happen to know how to put their words together to sound intellectual, young, inexperienced boys who’ve never had real relationships are especially vulnerable to believing it.

Conclusion:

By 2026, the cracks are obvious: The loudest alpha voices are either banned, arrested, pivoting to conspiracy content, or getting their ass beat in a boxing ring. Engagement is declining. Audiences are aging out. And we as a culture, we’re tired. The ‘’alpha male’’ era didn’t age well, and maybe that’s the point.
